Disciplinary Grid

The Teen Court disciplinary grid includes, but is not limited to, the following offenses (ALSO SUBJECT TO CHANGE PER DIRECTOR'S DISCRETION):

CITY OF LONGVIEW ONLY:

Class 1: 6-12 hours community service, 1 Jury Term, and required class within 30 days of trial date:

  • Parking Violations
  • Jaywalking/ Crossed Roadway
  • Stopping in Prohibited Area
  • Failure to Signal
  • Improper Turns/Starts from stopped position
  • Speeding 1-10 MPH over limit
  • Squealing Tires
  • Littering-Public or Private Property

Class 2: 10-22 hours community service, 1 Jury Term, and required class within 45 days of trial date:

  • Seat Belt Violation/Safety seat for child
  • Speeding 11-20 MPH over limit
  • Cell Phone in School Zone
  • Ran Red Light or Stop Sign
  • Failed to yield right-of-way
  • Expired Registration/Inspection
  • No Insurance
  • Clinging to Motor Vehicle
  • Disobey Traffic Control Device
  • Exhibition of Acceleration
  • Riding in back of Pick-up under 18 yrs of age
  • DL Restriction
  • Unsafe lane change/Cut Across Business
  • No Drivers License/ Allowing unlicensed driver to drive
  • Riding ATV on roadway

Class 3: 18-34 hours community service, 2 Jury Terms, and required class within 60 days of trial date

  • Speeding 21-25 MPH over limit
  • Speeding in school zone 1-17 MPH over limit
  • Trespassing
  • Violation of Restriction on DL
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Criminal Mischief
  • School gang membership
  • Failure to control speed
  • Passing a school bus
  • Alter Traffic Control Device
  • Reckless Damage
  • Violation of City Ordinance
  • DOC- Language, Fighting, Noise
  • Disruption of class or transportation
  • Failure to stop and give information/ Failure to ID
  • Collision/Following too close

Class 4: 28-46 hours community service, 3 Jury Terms, and required class within 90 days of trial date:

  • Theft under $100
  • Assault
  • Gaming
  • Criminal Trespassing
  • Speeding 26+ MPH over limit
  • Minor in Possession of Tobacco
  • False Fire Alarm
  • Allowing riders in back of truck if under 18 yrs
  • School Zone speeding 18+ MPH over limit

Class 5: 38-58 hours community service, 3 Jury Terms, and required classes within 90 days of trial date:

  • Minor in Possession of Alcohol
  • Minor Consuming Alcohol
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • DUI/Public Intoxication
